Schiavo Fails to Vote on Child Rapist and Pedophile Deportation Bill

Porter Ranch, CA – Today, Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo failed to vote for a bill that would allow California law enforcement officials, in coordination with the U.S. government, to deport child rapists and pedophiles who are already in this country illegally. Schiavo had the opportunity to vote today for Assembly Bill 2641 which would have corrected this injustice and made our communities safer, but once again she failed to do so.

“The most important job we have is to protect our children. Pilar Schiavo’s refusal to protect children from these child rapists and pedophiles in this country illegally makes our communities more dangerous,” said Patrick Gipson, a recently retired Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy and candidate for the 40th Assembly District against Schiavo.

“Pilar Schiavo is out of touch with the mainstream. She would rather protect and defend child rapists and pedophiles who are in this country illegally, then cast a vote protecting children. It’s extremism at its worst.”

Schiavo has been a long time advocate and activist in the “Defund the Police” movement, and began her career as a San Francisco political activist.
