Porter Ranch, CA – The California gas tax is set to increase to a staggering 60 cents per gallon– the highest in the nation–thanks to the policies of Gavin Newsom and Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo. Schiavo opposes eliminating or cutting the California gas tax.

“People are filling up their tanks anywhere from 3 to 5 times per week in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. Commuters are getting crushed and families are stretched beyond their max. The politicians in Sacramento, including Pilar Schiavo, have no concept what real people are going through,” said recently retired Deputy Sheriff Patrick Lee Gipson, candidate for the 40th Assembly District.

“But it doesn’t stop with the price we pay every time we fill up. These higher costs will be passed along to consumers in the cost of food and groceries making California and the LA area even more expensive. Californians need a BIG course correction, starting with some common sense. Higher gas prices DO NOT WORK for the people!”
